Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Class 5O! This year will be packed full of learning adventures that I hope will be both exciting and challenging. I expect each and every one of my students to try new things, ask for help, and never give up. Those will be the key ingredients for success in this class.
I attended and received my teaching degree from St. John's University. My teaching career started at PS 304 in Brooklyn where I taught for eight years. This year, I am eager to start my nineteenth year in Baldwin and twenty-seventh year of teaching. However, I am not done yet! I continue to take classes and try new things. My new love in education is to bring as much technology as I can--bring on the apps and QR codes.
This year we will be finding adventure in class novels, becoming scientists investigating hidden worlds, discovering our nation’s elaborate history, and using manipulatives to master math skills. It is my hope to create a learning environment that is fun, engaging, exciting and positive. I want kids to learn without even knowing that they are learning. It is my hope that our classroom becomes a community of learners. I believe that your child has valuable contributions to make to our learning.
In a nutshell, I have always loved working with kids and teaching has been my dream since I was a child. My goal is to create a classroom environment where each student has the opportunity to experience success, is willing to take risks, and is encouraged to work to his/her potential.
