Baldwin High School Library Transformation: The Learning Collaboratory
Baldwin High School’s Learning Collaboratory is a state-of-the-art collaborative learning and media center. Open to students and faculty, the Learning Collaboratory features areas for students to work together in an aesthetic space created for the 21st century learner, from spacious and comfortable seating areas to bright and pleasing lighting fixtures. In addition, individual meeting rooms with sliding glass doors boast technology ideal for presentations and other digital needs. The space will also serve as a place to complete homework and group assignments and allow for classes to reserve for innovative learning purposes.
Athletic Facility Upgrades
- New High School Gym Floors
Baldwin High School was excited to unveil new gym floors this fall, featuring the new Bruin logo!
Addition of Elevator at Plaza Elementary SchoolA brand new elevator has been added to Plaza Elementary School to help meet ADA standards.
New Fire Alarm System Throughout Entire District
A fully upgraded fire alarm system has been implemented throughout the entire district.

New Recording Studio at Baldwin High School@Shubert
The state-of-the-art recording studio will allow for work-based learning in the field of music and sound engineering to take place right within our school system. Featuring a control room equipped with a sound recording and mixing console, a music room, a drum booth, vocal booth and podcast technology, students will fully engage with the studio technology in countless ways. New courses centered on the field of sound engineering will also be made available to coincide with the studio launch, including Podcast Production, Music & Arts Sound Engineering, and Voice-Over Production. Immersing our students into the world of work will ensure that Baldwin High School graduates are that much more prepared for their future profession.
Wellness Center
Baldwin High School will launch a Wellness Center on school grounds to complement services provided by an outside physician.
New State-of-the-Art Smart Lockers at Baldwin High School
Smart lockers are secure, automated lockers with integrated computers and sensor networks that will open with the swipe of a student ID badge. Among the numerous benefits of smart lockers, all lockers can be easily opened or locked with the click of a button. Baldwin High School will be among the first high schools in the country to implement such a system.
New Doors District-Wide
All doors are currently being replaced throughout the entire district.
Bathroom Renovations for ADA
The district is renovating nearly 150 bathrooms in order to make necessary updates and make ADA-compliant.
Addition of Elevator at Steele Elementary School
A new elevator will be added to Steele Elementary School to help meet ADA standards.
New Windows at Plaza Elementary School
All of the windows at Plaza Elementary School are being replaced and upgraded, which will improve energy efficiency, ventilation in classrooms, while matching the architectural integrity of this historical building.
Renovated Tennis Courts
Baldwin High School tennis courts have recently undergone a renovation and resurfacing. Seven of the courts have been renovated and resurfaced with a new “turf” technology surfacing approved by the Nassau County Section 8 governing body for public high school interscholastic sports. This new surface will provide improved durability and weather resistance for our student athletes. The remaining three courts have been patched and repaired with additional lines installed for pickleball. Expected full completion of this project is end of December 2022.

FUTURE PROJECTS
Football Field, Grandstand and Track
The Baldwin High School football field turf, grandstand, and surrounding track will be fully replaced, beginning in the summer of 2023 with a beautiful, contemporary design, materials and equipment. Be on the lookout for more information over the coming months!Other Important Maintenance Projects
