These are some strategies that I use to address difficulties using grammatical structures:
* MODELING: It is so important to hear and see visually the correct grammatical structures.
*RESTATING: Restating their message using correct grammatical structures allows them to hear the correct usage and form of words
*SELF-CORRECTING: When working with stud nets on written expression, I have them read out loud what they wrote which helps them to identify their errors independently.
Some ideas and helpful resources to use at HOME:
*"Sentence Workout" app (from Virtual Speech Center) is a fun and entertaining app to work on sentence structure
*www.Quia.com is an excellent website that can target various speech and language goals in a fun, game based way.
*MadLibs is a fun way to work on various parts of speech and all students (even younger siblings) can play too.
