Mrs. Rebecca Scharf Watts

Hi! Welcome to Mrs Watts' 8:1:1 Life Skills classroom, where we strive for independence and encourage growth!  Prior to working in the Baldwin School District as a Special Education Teacher I worked at Brookville Center for Children Services in their Autism Program. As a member of the Baldwin faculty I am on the Autism committee, SITE based committee and I am a mentee to students within our school. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Advertising from the University of Miami and a Masters of Science from Touro Univeristy with both General and Special Education Certificates Birth -Second grade and First -sixth grade.

My classroom model adheres to and abides by the principles of applied behavioral analysis (ABA).  I have worked closely  with students with developmental disabilities to develop academic goals, lesson plans, manipulatives and assessments using the methodologies of ABA. My background has provided me with the ability to provide a structured educational environment that meets the individual needs of my students. Working with children with developmental disabilities is my passion and I am dedicated to making a difference in each child that I have the pleasure of working with.
