SPRING Driver Education Program 2022

  • Welcome!  Our Driver Education program is back for the Spring of 2022.

Our lecture course will be available in-person this year.

Students must complete 16 sessions of classroom instruction with a passing grade of 65 in each category.  The required 24 hours of in-vehicle instruction must be completed by a parent/guardian.  Car classes with a certified driving instructor are not being offered at this time.  You may choose to hire your own private driving instructor or complete the driving portion under parent/guardian supervision.  At the end of the 16 lectures students will have received 24 hours of classroom instruction related to "Rules of the Road,” traffic safety concerns, defensive driving, proper handling of a vehicle, parking, driving in traffic and problems of substance abuse as related to driving.

It includes the MV285 Completion Certificate, an insurance reduction to students who qualify and a senior driver license Class D at age 17 upon passing the DMV Road Test.

Classes are held in-person at Baldwin High School every Wednesday (5-6:30 pm or 6:30 - 8:00 pm) starting February 9, 2022 and ending June 8, 2022.

Students must be 16 years old and must have a Learner Permit before the first class.  Students must reside within the Baldwin Union Free School District.  All applications will be handled on a first come, first served basis.
