My name is Jessica Katsoulakis and I am excited about joining the Lenox Community this year. I have been teaching for sixteen years at elementary level and truly love what I do. I am enthusiastic and enjoy collaborating with colleagues and parents to meet the needs of our students. I earned my Master's Degree in Childhood from Long Island University and have continued my education to pursue a Literacy Certificate. I received training through Columbia University’s Teachers College and completed multiple summer institutions in reading and writing. I currently live in Smithtown with my husband, two girls (7) and (9), and our rescue dog Stella.
The role an elementary teacher plays in the lives of students is truly invaluable, which is one of the reasons that I chose this profession. A child’s earliest years in school should be filled with positive learning experiences that promote growth and development and allow each child to reach their fullest potential. The teacher is responsible for developing skills and providing support to enable students to achieve success and become lifelong learners. I am looking forward to helping your children achieve these goals this year!
