About Baldwin High School
-
Located on the south shore of Long Island, NY, Baldwin High School serves approximately 1550 students, grades 9-12, in the Baldwin Union Free School District. The high school is a nationally recognized “School of Excellence“ and "Recognition School" by the New York State Education Department and has been ranked among Newsweek's annual list of "America's Best High Schools," as well as U.S. News & World Report’s list of top high schools in the nation.
Preparing All Students for Their Future
Baldwin High School provides a comprehensive curriculum to prepare students for post-secondary education and a model school-to-career program, which includes our innovative Academic Academies. Through this program, students gain real work experience through coursework, internships, “Shadow Days” and competitions through various community and corporate partnerships. There is an open-enrollment policy for Advanced Placement courses in nearly 30 subjects and a multitude of college-level courses that enable students to earn college credit. We also launched a unique partnership with Nassau Community College (NCC), where students take classes directly on the campus, as part of our mission to ensure that all of our seniors graduate future-ready. More information on dual-credit courses can be found in the high school's online coursebook.
Extraordinary Learning Environment
The high school's facilities include a state-of-the-art “Learning Collaboratory” (the former library), featuring various collaborative spaces and technology, a multi-purpose gymnasium, athletic fields and track, a television studio, carpentry room, two cafeterias, auditorium, and science labs. Our redesigned learning spaces encompass spaces for students to gain real-hands on experiences right within the halls of our school, including a court room, the Virtual Enterprise room—which mirrors an actual conference space—a medical lab, and more!
Award-Winning Arts and Athletics Programs
In addition to academics, Baldwin High School proudly offers a rich menu of sports, fine and performing arts, and extracurricular clubs. Home to the Baldwin Bruins, our colors are blue and gold.
