The Mathematics Department provides students with an education in mathematics that will serve as a foundation for higher education as well as prepare them to be lifelong learners. Our faculty is a group of dedicated professionals who aim to create an environment that fosters mathematical thinking and problem-solving. It is our goal to inspire students and make them as excited to learn as we are to teach. Students will be strongly prepared for the New York State exams as well as for their endeavors after graduation.

To support this mission, the department is committed to professional development by attending conferences that offer opportunities for teachers to grow, integrating technology into lessons, and make real world connections. Students have the opportunity to earn a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation by passing all three mathematics regents examinations. Additionally, students can earn college credit by taking Pre-Calculus, College Algebra , College Statistics or College Calculus through Molloy College. College credit may also be earned by taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, and Computer Science.
