My Silver Lake Park Experience
By Dylan Pigott
In a world where our garbage outnumbers the fish of the ocean, and there is more rubbish in our parks than blades of grass, community clean-ups are all the more impactful. That is why I enjoyed the Senator Todd Kaminsky sponsored clean-up of Silver Lake Park that I attended with national Junior Honor Society on Saturday the seventeenth of September. My fellow residents and I were able to combat earth’s pollution. Even though it was on a small scare, it is comforting to know that every granule of trash out of our community helps. Additionally, waging the war on litter was much better in the picturesque surroundings of the park. This is because I was able to take in the park’s many beauties such as fish, ducks, and majestic swans, as well as a wide array of lake plants. I was also able to spend time with my friends; we talked, laughed, and just enjoyed the day. Though it seemed almost impossible, this resulted in an even more marvelous morning. Lastly, the presence of munchkins did not harm the experience.
In closing the Senator Todd Kaminsky sponsored Silver Lake Park clean-up was one of my month’s highest points.
