Voter Registration
Last Day for In-Person Voter Registration – May 14, 2026
A qualified voter must be:
- A United States citizen at least 18 years of age
- A resident of the school district for thirty (30) days immediately preceding the election and not otherwise prohibited from voting under the provisions of Section 5-106 of the Election Law.
- Registered to vote in general elections or have been registered to vote in the school district
Qualified voters may register to vote in school district elections only at the District Clerk’s office at the District Administration Building, 960 Hastings Street, Baldwin between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM when school is in session.

Registration to vote can be accomplished remotely through the New York State DMV website.
Early Mail and Absentee Ballots
Due May 19, Before 5 PM
Completed early mail and absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk on or before the day of the vote, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, before 5:00 PM. For more information contact the District Clerk at 516.434.6011 or districtclerk@baldwinschools.org.
Request for an Early Mail or Absentee Ballot
Applications are available starting April 20, 2026 — either in person from the District Clerk during school business hours, or by downloading it online. No applications will be accepted before April 20th.
Deadlines for Submitting Your Completed Application
- If you want the ballot mailed to you: Your completed application must be received by the District Clerk no later than May 12, 2026 (7 days before the vote).
- If you want to pick up your ballot in person: Your completed application must be received by May 18, 2026 (the day before the election).
How to Submit Your Application
You can submit your completed application in one of two ways:
- Email a scanned copy with a handwritten signature to the District Clerk at districtclerk@baldwinschools.org
- Mail a physical copy to the District Clerk's office:

Electronic signatures are not accepted — you must sign by hand before scanning or mailing.
Qualifications for an Early Mail or Absentee Ballot
You must meet any one of the following qualifications to vote via absentee ballot:
- Absent from Nassau County due to employment or business reasons, duties, studies, or vacation on the date of the vote (May 19, 2026).
- Unable to appear at the polls due to temporary or permanent illness or disability.
- Detained in jail awaiting Grand Jury action or awaiting trial or confined in prison after conviction for an offense other than a felony.
You must meet the following qualifications to vote via early mail ballot:
- Must meet the requirements and definition of a qualified voter as stated above.

Request for Military Application Military Ballot
Applications may be obtained from the Office of the District Clerk and submitted to the District Clerk, by mail (960 Hastings Street, Baldwin, NY 11510), email (districtclerk@baldwinschools.org), or fax (516.434.6803) no later than Thursday, April 23, 2026. Military Ballots will be mailed out Friday, April 24, 2026 and must be filed with the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
