Baldwin Elementary Schools Send Over 1400 Valentines to Veterans

Baldwin Elementary Schools Send Over 1400 Valentines to Veterans

Students Share Heartfelt Messages to Men and Women of Service in Hospitals and Nursing Homes Across the Nation

Students from Brookside, Lenox, Meadow, Plaza and Steele elementary schools contributed to the “Valentines for Vets” programs, crafting messages of love and appreciation for veterans in hospitals and nursing homes nationwide. The Baldwin Union Free School District’s K–5 schools participated through programs organized by either the Office of Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Office of Assemblywoman Judy Griffin or the Office of Councilwoman Laura Ryder.

This year’s effort totaled to more than 1,400 handmade cards from the district. These tokens of gratitude will be delivered throughout February to honor the service of veterans on Valentine’s Day. Baldwin UFSD proudly participates in this heartwarming initiative every year, which has resulted in more than 10,000 valentines over the last several years.
