Baldwin Fifth Graders Take Part in Unity Day

Over 300 fifth graders from the Baldwin Union Free School District took part in Unity Day, a cherished Baldwin tradition designed to help students connect with one another before they transition to middle school. During this annual event, fifth graders engaged in a variety of activities, including kickball, basketball, and soccer, held on the Baldwin High School field and in the gymnasium.

Students were grouped into teams, each wearing shirts identified by colors such as blue, orange, red, black, purple, green, and gray, fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition. This event provided a wonderful opportunity for students moving on to middle school to meet and form initial friendships.

Baldwin High School students, volunteering their time and enthusiasm, significantly contributed to the success of Unity Day by assisting in team staffing and leadership. Their dedication and leadership were crucial to the seamless execution of the day, and their efforts were appreciated by all. The event exemplified the strong community spirit within the Baldwin UFSD and underscored the importance of such initiatives in facilitating the transition from elementary to middle school.
