Baldwin High School Invited to Be Part of Exclusive Career Preparedness Workshop Hosted by Nassau County Executive

Students Participate in “Get Ready for Internship Day” as Part of Senior Experience Course

Baldwin High School continues to raise the bar when it comes to early career preparation and its role in shaping successful futures for students.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman recently addressed students in Baldwin High School’s Senior Experience course, highlighting the importance of career preparedness. The event, titled "Get Ready for the Internship" Workshop Day, was a carefully planned professional development program aimed at equipping senior students with essential career-readiness skills vital for success after high school.

Held at the Ceremonial Chambers of Nassau County, the workshop included a comprehensive agenda designed to enhance students' professional skills. Sessions covered S.M.A.R.T. goal setting, teaching students to define clear and attainable objectives. Interactive role-plays focused on workplace etiquette, while resume-building exercises provided peer feedback to improve students' ability to present their qualifications effectively. Additionally, participants received guidance in creating professional LinkedIn profiles, an essential networking tool in today’s digital job market.

The event concluded with a wrap-up and Q&A session, offering students the chance to review their new knowledge and ask any remaining questions.

The initiative was also awarded a special citation from Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, recognizing its significant impact on preparing students for future careers and academic endeavors.

"This program is crucial because it equips our students with the skills and confidence required to transition successfully from high school to their future careers and education," said Dr. Gabriella Franza, assistant director of instructional programs. "Early preparation with goal-setting, professionalism, and practical tools ensures they are ready to face challenges and seize every opportunity."
