Baldwin Middle School Emits Global Compassion with "Help Heal Jamaica" Relief Effort

Students, Staff and Families Join Together to Help Those Impacted by Hurricane Melissa

Baldwin Middle School has once again underscored its commitment to compassion, unity, and global citizenship. Through the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)’s "Help Heal Jamaica Hurricane Relief Drive," students, families, and staff jointed together to support Jamaican communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

The school community, with heartfelt generosity, gathered a substantial collection of essential supplies, including clothing, non-perishable food, and hygiene products. The collective endeavor resulted in four fully packed barrels of necessities, which were dispatched directly to Jamaica, providing immediate aid to families in need during the crisis.

Baldwin Middle School NJHS advisor, Ms. Laurie Tricamo, expressed her appreciation for the community’s support, stating, “The response from our school community was truly inspiring, and many families abroad will feel the impact of their kindness.”

Dr. Erica Taylor echoed this sentiment, speaking to the importance of initiatives such as this one.

“When we model humanity as a community, we teach our children values that help them thrive in society, such as kindness, empathy, and the confidence to be the change our world needs,” she said.

This initiative not only provides vital aid to families in Jamaica but also reinforces Baldwin Middle School’s mission to cultivate compassionate, socially conscious future leaders.
