Brookside Elementary School Hosts Inaugural Career Day

Brookside proudly hosted its first-ever Career Day, “Adventures in Careers,” in collaboration with the school's Site-Based Team. Over 20 guest speakers visited students in grades K–5 to share insights about their careers and inspire students to think about their futures. Presenters included engineers, police officers, firefighters, nurses, real estate agents, members of the armed forces, and even the daughter of one of our staff members who works in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Students also had the opportunity to hear from our Superintendent, Mr. Mignella, and Board of Education member, Ms. Cools. Guest speakers were encouraged to connect their presentations to the 6 C’s and future-ready competencies, helping students make meaningful connections between classroom learning and the world beyond school. Students reflected on what they learned and shared how the experience inspired them to think about their own goals and future possibilities.
