Jeanette Rottkamp Appointed New Principal of Brookside

Jeanette Rottkamp

Read about her educational experience, upcoming "Meet & Greets," and more!

Ms. Jeanette Rottkamp has been appointed the new principal of Brookside Elementary School. Ms. Jeanette Rottkamp previously served as the assistant principal of Plaza Elementary School, where under the “Baldwin 2035” initiative, she has already demonstrated her ability to create forward-thinking experiences that prepare our students for the future. Just this year alone, she helped Plaza achieve—for the first time—the designation of No Place for Hate school.

Prior to joining Baldwin Union Free School District, Ms. Rottkamp was an instructional coach at MS 358, The Magnet School for Exploration and Experiential Learning and part of the New York City Department of Education. She received her bachelor’s degree in secondary education English 7-12 from Molloy College and her master’s degree in special education and her post master’s advanced certificate in school district leadership from Queens College.

“I am thrilled to be the next principal of Brookside Elementary School! I have been a part of the Baldwin School District for three years, and it is with great eagerness and excitement that I take on this new role. It has been a privilege to serve the community of Baldwin, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to call Brookside my home. I am eager to establish connections, build relationships, and work alongside parents, students, and staff to support Brookside’s growth and success.”
