Community Leaders Give Baldwin Students a Back-to-School Boost

A group of people stand in front of a large red heart-shaped inflatable that says "SCHOOL IS COOL!" with a chain-link fence and a brick building in the background.

Senator Siela Bynoe, Legislator Scott Davis, Legislator Debra Mulé and Assemblywoman Judy Griffin Donate Backpacks and School Supplies

The Baldwin Union Free School District received a generous back-to-school boost thanks to the support of local community leaders who donated backpacks and school supplies to help students start the 2026-2027 school year ready to learn.

New York State Senator Siela Bynoe generously donated backpacks to students at Plaza Elementary School, helping to make the first day of school even more special. The backpacks were distributed, with the help of Legislator Scott Davis and Legislator Debra Mulé, to students in grades K-5 as they began the new school year, providing them with supplies, from colored pencils to notebooks, to help them get off to a successful start.

In addition, New York State Assemblywoman Judy Griffin also supported Baldwin students through her annual Backpack & School Supplies Drive. Through the initiative, new backpacks and a variety of school supplies were collected with the support of community members, organizations and local businesses and donated to students in need throughout the district.
