NEW YORK (WABC) -- Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for kids aged 5-14, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Jace Owens, a lifeguard from Baldwin, Long Island, sat down with Sandra Bookman to discuss his advocacy for water safety.
The fourth annual Black Authors Festival is sending out a call to action with this year's theme: "The Right, To Write".
The focus: protecting intellectual freedom and challenging book bans -- especially the censorship of black voices, stories and history.
