Baldwin Elementary School Students Send More Than 1,000 Valentines to Veterans

Students Express Love and Gratitude to Those Who Served Our Nation

The year 2025 began with elementary students across Baldwin Union Free School District opening their hearts by sending notes and letters of gratitude to veterans in hospitals and nursing homes through the “Valentines for Vets” programs associated with the Town of Hempstead and Nassau County. The students crafted Valentine ’s Day cards, thanking the men and women who have served this country. Councilwoman Laura Ryder organized a program on behalf of the Town of Hempstead while County Executive Bruce Blakeman held one on behalf of Nassau. Approximately 1000 valentines from the Baldwin elementary schools will be delivered throughout month of February in celebration of February 14th.
