Baldwin School District Earns GreatSchools’ 2024 College Success Award

Baldwin High School among 1,436 High Schools in 19 States to Be Recognized

Baldwin High School has been awarded the prestigious College Success Award from GreatSchools, the nation’s leading nonprofit providing school information to parents and families. Now in its sixth year, the national award program celebrates public high schools that excel at preparing students for college and beyond, as determined by available data in each state. This is the first year for New York high schools to be recognized with the College Success Award. Baldwin High School is among the 284 schools statewide and 1436 schools across the country in take home this year’s honor.

“It is always a proud moment for our school to earn an accolade for our success,” said Dr. Neil Testa, principal of Baldwin High School. “This award is extra special because it demonstrates that our students are thoroughly prepared for college and career. This recognition has been earned through a collective effort of our dedicated students, our supportive parents, and talented faculty.” 

Baldwin High School has continued to uphold many best practices to support their students’ college preparation. The district has received countless accolades for its innovative and rigorous academic programs, numerous partnerships, redesigned classrooms, and prides itself on helping students graduate college-, career-, and life-ready. Baldwin High School’s current graduation rate is 99%. In addition to Advancement Placement (AP) courses, the district offers more than 30 dual enrollment/college-level courses through colleges and universities, including a partnership with Nassau Community College (SUNY Nassau). Additionally, Baldwin UFSD’s School2Career programs, like the award-winning Academic Academies, allow students to experience hands-on experiences in various professions starting as early as 8th grade.
