Baldwin UFSD Marches in Memorial Day Parade
Steele Elementary School Places First in American Legion Post 246’s Float Competition
The Baldwin American Legion Post 246 ‘rolled out the red, white, and blue carpet’ for its Memorial Day Parade, carrying on a tradition that's been marching strong for over 80 years! The event rallied elected officials, bright-eyed Baldwin school students, community locals, and business owners alike.
Baldwin schools were out in full force, marching bands and all. As the parade strutted down Grand Avenue on the beautiful sunny morning, Baldwin community honored those who sacrificed their all for the nation.
In addition, a highlight of this year’s parade was Steele Elementary School's float, which won first place in the American Legion’s contest, adding a celebratory note to the occasion. Special thanks to John Feeney—longtime parent of Steele Elementary School—for helping with the direction and construction of the float.
The parade concluded at Silver Lake Park, where a commemorative remembrance ceremony took place.
