Baldwin Union Free School District Celebrates Wrestling Triumphs

Baldwin Union Free School District Celebrates Wrestling Triumphs

Baldwin High School Wrestling Team Stands Out This Season

The Baldwin Union Free School District is thrilled to highlight the outstanding achievements of its wrestling team this season. Demonstrating remarkable skill and dedication, the team had 13 wrestlers achieve All-Conference status, a testament to their hard work and commitment on the mat. The wrestling team is coached by Baldwin teacher, Jake Horton.

Among the standout performers, two Baldwin wrestlers distinguished themselves by capturing individual titles, earning the prestigious title of conference champion. Their victories are a source of pride for the entire district.

In addition to conference success, two Baldwin wrestlers reached the pinnacle of All-County status, underscoring their prowess and determination. Frantz Byron and Nahkin Stevens made excellent progress at the county tournament, with Frantz reaching the county finals. In December, Nahkin was recognized as one of Newsday's Top 100 Boys Wrestlers for the 2024-2025 Season.” Meanwhile, Frantz's outstanding performance not only secured him a place in the finals but also qualified him for the New York State Championship in Albany. His journey to the state championship is a significant milestone and serves as an inspiration to his teammates and the entire Baldwin community.

“As we celebrate this season's achievements, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Baldwin wrestling team, coaches, and supporters,” said Drew Cronin, athletic director for Baldwin UFSD. “Their collective efforts have brought honor to the district, and we eagerly anticipate more victories in the future. Go Bruins!”
