Regarding Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year takes place between January 20, 2026 and January 30, 2026 by school and in person (by appointment only) at the district's Registration Office, 960 Hastings Street.
An information packet is mailed out to Baldwin families the first week of January.
These forms and registration requirements/instructions are also available below. Upon completion of your child’s kindergarten registration, the kindergarten screening process, which takes place in March, will also be explained.
How do I know which date I can register?
Please refer to the schedule (English / Spanish) in the letter for school specific registration dates. Then, you may schedule an appointment on that date by calling 516.434.6095. Photo identification is required to enter the building.
How old does my child have to be in order to attend kindergarten in the Baldwin Union Free School District for the 2026-2027 school year?
To qualify for kindergarten, children MUST be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2026. Parents must provide the Registration Office with proof of age (original birth certificate with raised seal) when registering the child.
Do I need to bring my child when registering for kindergarten?
Your child does NOT have to be present at registration.

For Kindergarten Registration Specifically
The registration packet, medical packet, and kindergarten background data survey must be completed and returned on the day of your registration appointment. These documents should all be accessible below. If you have any questions, please contact the Registration Office at 516.434.6095.
Please note:
- A child may not attend school unless the immunization form is completed and signed by a physician.
- If a parent is registering a child and the child and parent are living with a relative who is a legal resident of Baldwin, an affidavit (English / Spanish) must be signed by both parties. The homeowner must prove their residency as well as the parent.
