Anthony Mignella

Mr. Anthony Mignella serves as the Superintendent of Schools for the Baldwin Union Free School District, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to his role. An extensive background in educational leadership, Mr. Mignella 's journey in education began over 25 years ago and has included a variety of transformative roles. The Baldwin community knows him from his previous capacity as the district's Assistant Superintendent for Instruction for nine years, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the district’s future-driven curriculum and enhancing student achievement.

Under his leadership, Baldwin UFSD will continually focus on developing innovative programs and curricula that incorporate modern-day workforce skills, while preparing students for 2035 and placing an emphasis on our "future ready competencies."

Baldwin High School continues to rank among the top high schools in the nation, according to  U.S. News & World Report. The school was also designated a "Recognition School" for two consecutive years by the New York State Education Department, standing alongside some of the highest-ranking school districts in Long Island and New York State. Additionally, Baldwin UFSD was one of just four winners of the Business Council of New York State's inaugural Workforce Innovation Award —the only K-12 school district to receive this prestigious accolade for Baldwin High School's Academic Academies Program. The National School Boards Association (NSBA) has recognized the district with a Silver Magna Award. The district has also been honored with five Champion of Change awards by the New York State School Boards Association. The district has also been honored with five Champion of Change awards from the New York State School Boards Association and was selected as one of 1,436 high schools across 19 states to receive the Great Schools 2024 College Success Award. Most recently, Baldwin UFSD was invited to join the League of Innovative Schools after being selected from a competitive national pool of applicants based on our educational leadership, demonstrated commitment to powerful learning, innovative vision, key achievements, and collaborative spirit.

Under the direction of Superintendent Mignella, the district remains focused on developing learning opportunities that are based on the theme of “students as producers” and incorporate "creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, character and civics."
