Baldwin UFSD Raises More than $7500 for Breast Cancer Research and Support

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, students in Baldwin Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), as well as the Baldwin High School Key Club recently participated in the 26th annual American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach State Park, alongside their Baldwin families, faculty, and administrators.

The NJHS raised more than $5,500, ranking 48 out of 1,230 teams. This was NJHS’ 15th year participating.

The Key Club, led by co-presidents Nicolette Carrion Ronnie Marchese-Silano, raised over $2000.

The Jones Beach walk is the largest breast cancer walk in the tri-state area. The annual event raises money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and help individuals reduce their breast cancer risk through early detection.
